Exciting New Updates for Zoner Photo Studio: Superb auto-enhancement and the intuitive Filter Brush

Zoner image manager – Folder view

(March 21st, 2017, Tampa, FL) – The popular photo software Zoner Photo Studio X has received its second major update in just six months. ZPS X adds the Filter Brush (localized non-destructive edits), massively improved automatic edits, and offers an easier way to make complex selections. Fans of previous Zoner Photo Studio releases will appreciate their new higher quality and lower prices. And tutorial-lovers will soon  find new tutorials all in one place right on Zoner.com. With this update, Zoner Photo Studio has bolstered its position as a unique, well-rounded photo editing/sharing/archiving tool.

“What pleases me most is the wealth of new features that the development team has managed to add in the mere six months since the release of ZPS X. This much progress would be impressive even in twice the time. And we’re far from done,” says product manager Jan Kupcik of the changes.

Develop Module Adds New Filter Brush, More Filter Freedom

Develop’s existing Gradient Filter and Radial Filter are now joined by the Filter Brush, for “painting” exposure adjustments onto a photo, giving users total freedom even when developing RAW files.

Work with filters overall in Develop is now smoother than ever. Also, masks for individual edits in Develop can now be named, temporarily hidden, and duplicated and a mask’s coverage can be shown to give a better idea of what it’s doing. “Every photographer will be swept away by these new features—now they can handle their normal editing workflow in the Develop module, and save the Editor for just the most demanding edits,” notes Kupcik.

Precise Selections in the Editor Are a Snap

Replacing the background behind a subject with fuzzy fur or frizzy hair can now be done in seconds. The new selection tools in the Editor now include a Refine Selection feature. This tool is all about ease of use—its three sliders make precise selections a snap for everyone. Users of the Editor will also appreciate a great change in Quick Edits: previewing of settings is now instant.

Smart Automatic Enhancements

Automatic enhancements in Develop are now miles ahead of where they were before. Clicking the Auto button, now located right in the toolbar makes both color adjustments and multiple exposure adjustments. These changes can then be fine-tuned easily by hand in the right panel.

Work with Track Logs for Traveling Shutterbugs

For photographers who are also travelers, the Spring Update brings the opportunity to work with tracklogs so they can see photographs of their trip as it unfolds in the Map view. They can also track their route with their phone as they go and import the tracklog into Zoner Photo Studio X. The program will combine all the photos, logging them together for preview in the Manager’s Map view. This auto-synchronization is based on when each photo was taken. If needed, photos can easily be slid back and forth by hand along the route shown on the map.

A Smarter Manager

Auto-completion for photo titles, descriptions, and locations speeds up work for anyone who wants to have their photo collection well-organized. Batch edits to labels, ratings, and GPS data are now done in the background while you work. The program’s sharing options now include the ability to share photos directly to an administered Facebook page, or in a message on Messenger.

Cheaper Photo Products and New Learning Pages

Besides the new features in the program itself, users will also appreciate the improvements to their photo product orders: thanks to a new supplier, they’re higher in quality and much less expensive. For example a high quality 30×40 canvas print now costs only $27.00 including shipping and handling.

In just a few weeks, the popular zoner.com learning center will receive a massive update and offer readers better navigation, lots of constantly-updated tutorials, and a greater focus on videos and infographics. The photography tips and photo editing guides will focus more than ever on reader demand, and ZPS X subscribers will additionally have access to superb VIP content.

Priority Support for ZPS X Subscribers

Zoner Photo Studio X is available as an annual subscription license at a price of $95.88. Subscribers have the right to program updates released several times a year, and are also first in line for free technical support.

With the tight focus on supporting and quickly developing ZPS X, owners of older versions must take into account the limited support for these versions. For more information, see https://www.zoner.com/en/faq/older-version-support-phaseout.

Zoner Photo Studio X will see another features update in a few months time. Among other things, the development team is carefully watching the latest developments in HDR displays and how to use them in photography. “The strongest development barrier here lies in the fact the update to Windows 10 that will offer critically needed HDR display support has not been released yet,  explains Kupcik regarding the challenges ahead.

The full Zoner Photo Studio X can be downloaded from www.zoner.com/en/free-photo-editor-download for 30 days for free.
