In remembrance of Chuck Westfall: College tuition for Anna Westfall

On March 16, 2018, the photographic industry lost a true legend, and the world lost a great human being. Chuck Westfall had an impact on nearly everyone in the photo industry, was considered one of the most brilliant and knowledgeable techs in the business and was synonymous with the Canon brand for over 35 years. But what really set Chuck Westfall apart was who he was as a person; an uncommonly kind, generous, and caring man whose life was dedicated to his career and co-workers, his friends, siblings, his church, and most importantly, his family.

Education at any level was very important to Chuck and something he and his wife Ying instilled in their daughter, Anna at a very early age. Now a high school sophomore, Anna is an excellent student, accomplished musician, and volunteers her time in the community and through her church — a real chip-off-the old-block.

While Ying and Chuck began saving for Anna’s college fund shortly after she was born, the cost of a college education continues to rise and the sudden loss of Chuck has shortened the time to save by about six years. Anna and Ying will begin researching and visiting colleges this summer.

Created with the sincerest thanks, support, and approval of Ying Westfall, a number of longtime friends of Chuck have created this YouCaring page to help subsidize Anna’s current college fund. If Anna receives a full or partial scholarship, university or government grants, or other financial support, all remaining funds raised from this campaign will be provided to local students with financial needs.

There are a couple of ways you can support Anna’s education campaign. You can share this page with your friends via social media to increase the awareness and you can contribute financially. We elected to use YouCaring instead of other crowd funding options because there are no fees associated with YouCaring so every dollar raised goes directly to Anna’s education fund.
Chuck was a great friend to many of us. This is one way we can honor his memory.

Thank you.
