Mixbook acquires WedPics, Leading Photo Sharing App for Weddings

Acquisition Reinforces Mixbook’s Leadership in Custom Photo Goods Creation While Elevating its Bridal And Wedding Photo Sharing Expertise

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Mixbook, an award-winning online design tool for creating beautiful printed photo goods, today announced that it has acquired WedPics, a leading photo sharing platform focused on weddings. This acquisition will combine Mixbook’s leading photo product design technology and highly-specialized printing capabilities with the WedPics leading photo sharing platform.  Together, they will extend their industry leadership in providing superior service and end-to-end wedding print solutions, helping brides and their guests share, print and preserve wedding memories.

Co-founded in 2012 by Justin Miller and Idan Koren, WedPics raised over $10 million in funding to provide a streamlined, personalized and private app-based solution to capture and collect wedding photos and videos.  As a notable leader within the wedding photo sharing space, WedPics has garnered more than one million registered brides and over seven million users through its smart revenue-focused strategies and worth-of-mouth marketing.

“As a brand focused on design and customization, brides are one of our biggest audiences,” said Andrew Laffoon, CEO of Mixbook.  “Our customers come to us to help them create something beautiful that reflects the unique character of their wedding and their relationships. Over the past 5 years, the WedPics team has become the clear leader in wedding photo sharing. We are excited to add WedPics to the family of Mixbook products and add more value to our brides by helping them to document their big day – from collecting guests’ photos to making gorgeous printed products.”

“As the WedPics platform continued to evolve, the demand from our brides for printing has been incredible.  We searched for opportunities to expand out our core technical and print offerings and Mixbook’s solutions were the perfect fit,” said Justin Miller, CEO of WedPics. “We’re thrilled to be joining forces to bring our brides and their guests the best in photo sharing and printing.”

Mixbook offers a powerful design editor for building and sharing personalized photo-based products, including wedding photo and guest books, save the date cards, invitations and RSVP cards, and more.  With the acquisition of Wedpics, Mixbook will use its combined user base and services to create an elevated bridal-focused customer experience.
