The Imaging Alliance to Honor Three Visionary Retailers

Winners Represent Alliance’s Push to Redefine Imaging

WOODBURY, NY, Nov. 14, 2016 –The Imaging Alliance, a non-profit organization representing the bold and diverse imaging industry, today announced the winners of its 2017 Visionary Retailer Awards. Glazer’s Camera, Adorama and Best Buy will be honored for their visionary achievements in imaging retailing at The Imaging Alliance’s Celebrate Imaging event on the eve of CES 2017 on Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 in Las Vegas.

“Among our first awards representing The Imaging Alliance, we wanted to turn our attention to honoring retailers that have created innovative strategies to connect with consumers,” said Jerry Grossman, the organization’s executive director. “Our board of directors agreed to look at three classes of retail – photo specialty, Internet and national retail, and find leaders in each discipline that fit our criteria of pushing the envelope in retail practices.”

Glazer’s Camera was chosen in the photo specialty category due to its recent investment in a new state-of-the-art location in the heart of downtown Seattle. “The sheer fact that the management of Glazer’s chose to invest so much in the new store, combined with their belief in the future of brick-and-mortar retailing in our industry, is an inspiration to the imaging industry,” said Grossman.

Best Buy is being recognized for its new Camera Experience Shops, which the company has expanded to 130 locations nationwide. Best Buy now offers weekend photo workshops, highly trained imaging professional staff, and a complete assortment of imaging gear in those locations, demonstrating a renewed commitment to imaging education and retail sales.

Adorama, one of the leaders in online imaging sales, is a pioneering e-tailer that focuses its efforts far beyond its geographic location. With its Adorama Online Learning Center, the retailer offers professional-grade video tutorials, online social events and the Adorama TV series, bringing an exciting and inventive focus to the imaging category.

The awards ceremony, which will recognize the winners’ achievements, will take place at The Foundry at the SLS Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday, January 4th. For more information, contact Michelle Tramantano at [email protected].
