A year of growth and success

As the Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Giving Tuesday series of events cause ripples along the retail and e-commerce landscape, we’d also like to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Dead Pixels Society newsletter. What started as a way to keep in touch with friends and industry trends has grown into a respected news and opinion source.

Our newsletter readership has grown to more than 400, with readership in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, South America and beyond. Judging by the company names of our subscribers, the Dead Pixels Society newsletter is read by the top brands and companies in the photo/imaging space, easily representing billions in global photo/imaging revenue.

What’s coming up in the next year? Due to requests – some would say demands – the DPS team is looking to host a small educational event in the spring, possibly co-located with another popular industry event. We are still hammering out the details and will be looking for volunteers to serve as an advisory committee. Interested? Email me at [email protected]

And, yes, there will be new lapel pins.

We will also continue to build out the Dead Pixels Society website with new features and functions. The website has shown continuous growth this year, reaching 4,400 monthly users, with a growth rate up more than 40% this year.  If jokes, memes, and comments are more your thing, join our Facebook group.

This newsletter and the accompanying website would not be possible with the support of sponsors who understand the value of this information to the industry. They are not in it for the clicks but believe an informed photo/imaging industry is a growing industry. So, thanks to current and past sponsors: Photo Finale, Vivid-Pix, Photobook.ai, IPI/The Print Refinery, Mediaclip, Visual1st and MailPix. For you future sponsors, now is the time to get on board.
