SmugMug has updated its Android and iOS apps to include editing features and automatic uploads. The new editing functions include transform, filters, text editing and more.

Matterport brings 3D capture to iPhone

Matterport released Matterport for iPhone, a way to create, to edit, and to share high-fidelity 3D digital twins of any physical space. With the Matterport Capture app, iPhone owners capture a 3D environment; personalize it with embedded notes, links, labels or videos; and share it with a click.

Apple announced its annual Worldwide Developers Conference virtually, beginning June 22, in the Apple Developer app and on the Apple Developer website for free for all developers.

thINK announces thINK Ahead 2020 to shift to virtual event

thINK, the independent community of Canon Solutions America inkjet customers, announced its annual event, thINK Ahead, will shift to live virtual learning event Sept. 2, 2020. The invitation-only Inkjet 101 will take place Sept. 1. The thINK Ahead 2020 – Live Virtual Event and Inkjet 101 is free to all Canon Solutions America inkjet customers.

Gary Pageau from the Dead Pixels Society talks with photographer Michael Rubin about the photography, printing and retail. Rubin operated, until recently, the Neomodern print store and gallery in downtown San Francisco. He is also the co-host of the “Everyday Photography, Every Day,” podcast.

GoPro announces $119 million in sales, as expected

GoPro, Inc. announced first-quarter revenues were $119 million, in line with its preliminary reports, but down from the $243 million for the same period last year. The net loss in the quarter was $64 million.

Cimpress reports quarterly sales down 10 percent

Vistaprint parent Cimpress plc reported print orders dropped by 65 percent at the end of March and beginning of April, climbing to 40 percent down by the end of the month. Sales for the quarter were down by 10 percent to US$598 million, compared with $661.8 million a year ago.

Amazon.com announces first-quarter results

Amazon reported first-quarter net sales increased 26% to $75.5 billion in the first quarter, compared with $59.7 billion in first-quarter 2019, according to a press release.

International Paper reports first-quarter 2020 results

International Paper reported a first-quarter net loss of $141 million, compared with $165 million in the fourth quarter of 2019 and $424 million in the first quarter of 2019, via press release.

Largan’s sales down in April more than 10% from March

Largan Precision Co., a supplier of smartphone camera lenses to Apple Inc., said Tuesday its sales for April fell more than 10 percent from a month earlier as the COVID-19 pandemic affected demand, via Focus Taiwan. Largan posted NT$4.68 billion (US$157 million) in consolidated sales in April, down 14 percent from a month earlier and also down 6 percent from a year earlier.
