Noritsu premium paper prevents inkhead clogs

At the recent PRO summer meeting, we had the chance to catch up with Glen Hart, vice president of Imaging Sales, Noritsu America Corp., to talk about the company’s inkjet paper. Specifically, he outlined how Noritsu inkjet papers produce less dust inside the printer, which increases the longevity of printheads.

“Paper dust is the number-one cause of printhead failure,” says Hart. “Noritsu paper, because of the way the fibers are laid down, produces less dust comparable products.” He added Noritsu paper exceeds the tolerance of the OEM manufacturer’s own branded paper.

He acknowledges the papers’ higher price but contends, over the life of the inkjet printer, the user will save money with fewer head replacements.

Hart also added Noritsu’s standard papers have gone from 9.0 mil thick to 9.50 mil; there’s also a 9.5 mil thickness with a “Noritsu” watermark on the back. Most of the semi-gloss stock – now called “luster” – is now offered as a 9.5 mil with a watermark.
