Ten winners of CEWE Photo Award selected

The winners of 10 competition categories in the CEWE Photo Award 2021 were announced, selected from amateur and professional photographers who submitted more than 600,000 photos from 170 countries. The jury, chaired by French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand, will select this year’s overall winner from these finalists. The SOS Children’s Villages around the world also benefit from the lively participation: CEWE donates 10 cents to the aid organization for every photo submitted. The record sum of 60,628.90 euros goes to an education project in Haiti.

“This year it is all the more important to keep looking at the beautiful sides of the world. 606,289 photos submitted from all over the world document the diversity and beauty of our planet. The stories behind many of these pictures touched us deeply in the jury,” says Dr. Christian Friege, CEO of CEWE.

During a Europe-wide, virtual jury meeting, the jury composed of Arthus-Bertrand, Christie Goodwin, Ulla Lohmann, Martin Rak, Kai Pfaffenbach, Petra Horn and Friege each selected a winning photo from ten different categories. Which of them will win the overall victory of the CEWE Photo Award 2021 will be announced on Sept. 16 at the gala in Berlin. There, CEWE and the jury will personally honor the top 10 winners of the competition.
