Apple buys leading image-editing app company Pixelmator

Pixelmator Pro 3.6 – AI Hide Background

Apple Inc. has purchased leading image-editing app maker Pixelmator Team for an undisclosed amount, according to a company post. The company’s products include Pixelmator Pro, a professional image-editing tool, Pixelmator for iOS, and Photomator, a photo editor for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Vision Pro.

According to the blog post:

Pixelmator has signed an agreement to be acquired by Apple, subject to regulatory approval. There will be no material changes to the Pixelmator Pro, Pixelmator for iOS, and Photomator apps at this time. Stay tuned for exciting updates to come.

Founded in Lithuania in 2007 by two brothers, Saulius Dailide and Aidas Dailide, the Pixelmator Team develops image editing apps for Mac and iOS. The team’s apps have been honored with numerous prestigious awards, such as three Mac App of the Year awards, an iPad App of the Year award, two Apple Design Awards, and many others. Pixelmator for iPad was featured at the Apple Special Event in October  2014.
