At the extraordinary general meeting on March 11, 2024 in Frankfurt am Main, the members of the Photo Industry Association ( PIV ) decided to dissolve and orderly wind up the association as of Dec. 31, 2024, according to announcement on the PIV web page.

This year, the association will continue to maintain its operational business and fulfill its tasks as planned, including serving as the ideal sponsor of PHOTOPIA Hamburg, which will take place in the Hanseatic city from Oct.10-13, 2024. After Dec. 31, 2024, the association will be wound up in an orderly manner as part of a statutory liquidation. Per the statutes, the managing director,  Christian Müller-Rieker, was appointed as liquidator.

“The PIV was no longer able to set up a new and sustainable association concept on its own because it has limited financial resources and options for the association to continue to exist as an industry representative,” says Müller-Rieker. “To avoid imminent insolvency, there is no alternative to liquidating the association,.”
