Tech.eu reports Photoroom co-founder Eliot Andres is stepping away from an executive role at the French AI photo editing app. Andres founded Paris-based Photoroom with CEO Matthieu Rouif in 2019. Photoroom leverages AI to help brands and individual sellers edit shots into professional-looking visuals in seconds.

Andres has spent the bulk of his time as CTO at Photoroom but transitioned to a contributor role this year.

Confirming his departure on LinkedIn, Andres said: “After seven years, I’m stepping down from my executive role at Photoroom. I’ll remain involved in strategic decisions as a board member.”

According to Tech.eu, Andres is replaced as CTO by Javier Sotelo, a former Groupon executive who joined Photoroom at the start of the year. Photoroom, valued at €500m, raised €43 million in 2024 in a Series B funding round.
