Art’s Cameras Plus named Digital Imaging Reporter’s 2018 Dealer of the Year

Woodbury, NY, December 5, 2018—Digital Imaging Reporter, the photo-imaging industry’s leading business trade publication, has named Art’s Cameras Plus of Waukesha, Wisconsin as their 2018 Dealer of the Year. The award is presented annually to the photo retailer who exhibits leadership, innovation and exemplary customer service in the digital imaging industry.

In announcing the award, Jerry Grossman, editor in chief of Digital Imaging Reporter, said, “Art’s Cameras Plus has stayed true to its Wisconsin roots since 1967 by putting customer service and product selection above all else, but has also transformed itself to become one of the leading photo retailers of the industry. The legacy of the Miresse family continues to leave its mark on the photo world with their dedication to their customers and employees and encouraging the fun and creativity of photography in their lives. We’re proud to bestow this honor upon them.”

Art’s Cameras Plus began as part of a discount store in 1967, where Art Miresse had an agreement with a discount department store to start a camera department. Art continued with his partners until he eventually bought them out and began Art’s Thrifty Camera before changing the name to Art’s Cameras Plus in 1987. His youngest son Tony joined the store in the late 1970s when he was 16 and continues to run the store today. Art passed away in 2012 at the age of 90, but Tony continues his legacy, running two successful stores. Art’s has remained an inspiring presence in the Waukesha and Greenfield communities for many years.

“We’re pleased to accept this honor on behalf of our many employees and customers who are responsible for our success over the last 51 years,” said Tony Miresse, President of Art’s Cameras Plus. “We’re are proud to be recognized as a leader in our industry, and would like to thank Digital Imaging Reporter, our employees and our loyal customers for this prestigious award.”
