VistaPrint parent company Cimpress ended fiscal 2026 with stronger profitability and an even more ambitious long-term outlook, while continuing to invest heavily in products and manufacturing capabilities that extend beyond traditional business cards into higher-value commercial print, signage, packaging, promotional products, and customized merchandise, according to its annual report filing. For the photo and imaging industry, the company’s annual investor letter reinforces a familiar trend: Groowth is increasingly being driven by diversified print applications, production automation, AI-assisted workflows, and manufacturing efficiency rather than legacy print categories.
The company generated $3.74 billion in revenue during FY2026 and adjusted EBITDA of $458 million, while increasing its profitability target for FY2028 to at least $615 million in adjusted EBITDA. Management said these gains will come from investments already underway rather than short-term cost cutting.
VistaPrint remains Cimpress’ largest business and continues to evolve from its historical focus on business cards into a broader provider of marketing materials and branded products.
Management noted that, among its highest-value customers, business cards and consumer products now account for only 22% of variable gross profit. Marketing materials, signage, promotional products, apparel, gifts, packaging and labels all contribute larger or rapidly growing shares of customer spending. VistaPrint has also shifted its advertising to emphasize these broader product categories through its “Print your Possible” campaign.
The company also introduced a new all-over-printed paper bag manufacturing process in Europe, later expanding it to North America, enabling economical production runs ranging from 25 to 50,000 units. Promotional products, apparel and gifts generated more than $355 million in VistaPrint revenue, growing 11% year over year, while estimated gross profit from those products increased 16%. Across Cimpress, promotional products, apparel, and gifts now represent more than $825 million, or roughly 23% of the company’s revenue.
Financially, VistaPrint delivered another strong year. Revenue increased to approximately $1.93 billion, segment EBITDA reached $393 million, and the business continued generating strong cash flow while funding significant investments.
Upload & Print delivers strongest growth
Cimpress’ Upload & Print businesses—which include operations such as Pixartprinting, Exaprint and other commercial print providers—produced some of the company’s strongest growth.
Revenue climbed to approximately $1.27 billion, up from just over $1.05 billion a year earlier, while segment EBITDA increased to $186 million. These businesses continue benefiting from acquisitions and expanded production capabilities aimed at commercial print customers.
During FY2026, Cimpress completed or announced several strategic acquisitions—including Print Alliance, Truyol, Mixam and Saxoprint/viaprinto—that strengthen its commercial print capabilities in books, catalogs, booklets and marketing materials. Management expects each acquisition to generate returns exceeding 20% once fully integrated into the Cimpress production network.
The company announced a strategic partnership with Canva that will allow users to move directly from Canva designs into professionally produced printed products. Cimpress also acquired a controlling interest in Mixam, whose AI-powered publishing workflow simplifies the production of books, catalogs and magazines.
