Following up on its recent diversification into baby books, AI-powered storytelling company Remento has launched holiday ornaments. The $29.99 Remento Ornament has a photo on one side and a QR code on the other. When scanned by a smartphone, the story plays in the browser. No app download needed.

To create the ornament, there’s a four-step process:

  1. Upload a favorite photo. Preview the front and back of the ornament before check out. Close-up photos with faces print best.
  2. Record the story behind it. Record in audio or video from any phone or computer. Everyone answers one simple prompt: “Describe what this moment means to you.” A minute or two is plenty.
  3. Invite everyone who was there. Share one invite link by text or email. Each person creates a free account to submit their story, and they can edit or delete their own story anytime.
  4. Hang it and scan it. Anyone who points a phone camera at the QR code sees the photo and hears every story.

The ornament product is available to existing Remento customers who want to add an existing story to an ornament and new customers who just want an ornament by ordering from remento.co/ornaments. One difference between the two products is, if the ornament is from an existing Remento story, the video story can’t be updated. The ornament-only version allows updates to the story.
