Edge Imaging acquires Winnipeg’s rd PhotoCorp

Toronto-based Edge Imaging announced its fourth acquisition of the year, a boutique Winnipeg volume school and team photography studio named rd PhotoCorp. Earlier this year, Edge announced four company acquisitions. The company said, “The acquisition allows Edge to take yet another step towards our goal of strengthening our brand presence and market share within Western Canada.”

“After navigating conservatively through the COVID-19 pandemic, a re-build was going to be required to emerge as an improved, innovative photography provider,” said Ryan Gulowaty, founder, rd Photo Corp. Edge already had the infrastructure in place and had set in motion many updates, improvements and value-added products/services that I had been considering.  Merging rd PhotoCorp’s school business with Edge’s established operation was a natural fit.”

RyanDavid Photography was founded in 2005, operating as a digital-first operation from the outset, according to Edge. In 2011, RyanDavid Photography was incorporated into rd PhotoCorp, moving there to downtown Winnipeg. The company developed a proprietary online order system.
