Epson is again teaming up again with The Photo Managers to support Save Your Photos Month, an awareness campaign dedicated to helping individuals and families protect treasured photo and video memories and the stories behind them. Now in its 12th year, this year’s “One Photo, One Story” campaign invites people everywhere to choose one meaningful photo and share the story behind it on social media using #OnePhotoOneStory, underscoring the importance of preserving both photos and the stories that give them meaning.
“Photos hold our family stories, milestones and the voices of the people we love, but too often, the story behind a photo is lost long before the photo itself,” said Cathi Nelson, founder of The Photo Managers. “This year’s ‘One Photo, One Story’ campaign is about encouraging families to preserve both. With free educational resources and easy-to-use technology like the FastFoto photo scanner, protecting and sharing these meaningful memories and the stories behind them is more accessible than ever.”
Save Your Photos Month began as a grassroots response to catastrophic disasters including the Joplin tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy and the Calgary floods. New for 2026, The Photo Managers is inviting everyone to participate in the “One Photo, One Story” campaign. Participants will choose one meaningful photo, share the story behind it in writing or through a short video or voice recording, and post it on social media using #OnePhotoOneStory.
“Save Your Photos Month brings awareness to the need to protect the photos and stories that connect us to our families and our past,” said Stacey Tieu, senior product manager, retail scanners, Epson America, Inc. “As someone who lives in southern California, I’ve seen firsthand accounts of people who have lost their homes, photos and precious memories. The campaign shows how important it is to encourage families to digitize their photos so memories can be preserved.”
Throughout September, The Photo Managers will provide free education, expert advice and resources designed to help families protect their photos, take control of their collections and preserve their family stories. Highlights include:
- YouTube Live Sessions: Held every Tuesday and Friday throughout September, sessions will cover protecting printed photos, digital backup strategies, organizing large photo collections, using AI to restore old photos, and preserving family stories.
- Memory Keepers Live Summit: A one-day virtual training event featuring expert-led sessions for people who want to go deeper on organizing, preserving and sharing their family memories.
- Free “One Photo, One Story” Starter Kit: Available at The Photo Managers’ Save Your Photos Month website, the kit includes story prompts, sample stories and a simple worksheet to help anyone get started documenting the stories behind their photos.
