According to Bloomberg LawFujifilm North America Corp. and Optimum Imaging Technologies LLC settled two lawsuits over patents covering camera technology that automatically corrects distorted images, according to federal court filings. Judge Haywood S. Gilliam Jr. terminated Optimum Imaging Technologies’s motion to transfer Fujifilm’s suit seeking declaratory judgment of noninfringement on Wednesday in the U.S .District Court for the Northern District of California, citing the parties’ March 25 status report disclosing they’d reached a settlement-in-principle. The status report came a week after the parties told a federal Texas court they’d settled Optimum’s suit accusing the digital camera manufacturer of infringing four patents, according to the Bloomberg report.

Optimum Imaging Technologies has engaged in several patent infringement lawsuits, notably filing complaints in October 2023 against major corporations like Fujifilm, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Samsung, and Sony in the Eastern District of Texas. The lawsuits allege infringement of patents related to optical aberration correction. A previous case against Canon was settled in April 2021
