Apple has a new service for transferring iCloud photos to Google Photos

Apple Inc. launched a service allowing users to transfer a copy of photos, videos, and albums from an iCloud Photos library to Google Photos. Transferring the photos maintains the copy on iCloud.

Adobe updates Photoshop for M1 Macs, adds Super Resolution to Camera RAW

Apple’s new M1 mobile chip got a big endorsement from the graphics community with the release by Adobe Inc. of Photoshop for M1. The application now runs natively on the M1 chip and provides faster performance, the company said.

AI image-recognition company Pomvom goes public on Tel Aviv exchange

Pomvom, the Israel-based AI-image recognition company, completed a $40 million IPO on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, according to CTech. The startup raised $11.5 million in the offering a year after completing private funding round at a $30 million valuation. Pompom bought U.K.-based entertainment and theme-park imaging company Picsolve last summer.

COVID-19 impacts Photo-Me International passport photo business

Photo-Me International plc, the instant-service equipment group, announced delayed results for the 18 months and 12 months ended 31 October 2020. The company reported revenue for the 18-month period was £310.2 million.

Largan reports February revenues hit two-year low

Smartphone-use lens module maker Largan Precision has reported consolidated revenues of NT$3.213 billion (US$114 million) for February 2021, decreasing 30.27% sequentially and 12.44% on year to reach the lowest monthly level since March 2019, according to DigiTimes.

Colby Chandler, former CEO and chairman of Eastman Kodak Co. passed away March 4 at the age of 95. Chandler led the Rochester, NY., firm from 1983 to 1990, leading the company’s diversification efforts, including the acquisition of Sterling Drug.
