Mimaki debuts the “UJV200-160/130” UV-LED Printer

Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. announces the launch of the UV inkjet printers UJV200-160 and UJV200-130 as new additions to the 200 Series of large-format inkjet printers for sign graphics. Launched in 2024 with the development concept of High Image Quality and Ease of Use for everyone, the 200 series has earned strong recognition for delivering high expressive capabilities through simple operation, and has been adopted by a wide range of customers, from long-time large format printer users to those who have recently entered the printing business.

The UJV200 features a single high-density, high-resolution print head based on the same 330 Engine used in our flagship printers. With precise ink control, it delivers smooth portrait images with minimal graininess and uniform solid colors with no streaking. From portrait graphics that naturally capture even the texture of skin to solid color areas that look beautiful even across large areas, it vividly and accurately reproduces the design intent in large-format advertising signs. Furthermore, because it can render fine lines and small text with sharp clarity, it delivers outstanding performance in applications requiring high visibility and accuracy, such as information board in commercial facilities.

To improve usability, we have significantly enhanced the automatic image quality adjustment function. Both the time required for adjustment and the amount of media used for pattern printing have been reduced to less than half that of previous models. In addition, automatic adjustment can be performed regardless of media color, including colored and transparent media. This ensures stable image quality across a wide range of media and applications without relying on operator skill level (Fig. 3), thereby helping to improve production efficiency.

Furthermore, by combining white and clear inks, the system supports up to three-layer printing. This enables value-added applications that combine design and functionality, such as store window decorations (Fig. 4) and stickers and labels (Fig. 5).

As the latest addition to the 200 Series, the UJV200 delivers high productivity not only as a primary graphic printer but also as a complement to existing equipment, further expanding the possibilities of the sign business.

The UJV200 will be available in two sizes to suit customer needs, with sales set to begin in April; the company expects to sell 1,000 units worldwide annually.
