Nikon Corp. has revised its financial forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, lowering its revenue expectations primarily because of weaker anticipated sales in its Imaging Products Business while raising its overall profit outlook. Nikon reduced its full-year revenue forecast by 1.4%, from ¥732 billion to ¥722 billion. The company increased its operating profit forecast by 50%, however, from ¥11 billion to ¥16.5 billion. Expected net profit attributable to shareholders was raised 60%, from ¥10 billion to ¥16 billion.

The revised outlook comes despite stronger-than-expected first-half financial performance.  For April to September, Nikon had planned an operating loss of ¥5.5 billion; it now expects a profit of ¥9.0 billion, due three reasons: higher service revenue in the Precision Equipment Business, favorable semiconductor market conditions, U.S. tariff refunds, and reduced administrative expenses. Nikon also raised its full-year profit expectations for its Healthcare and Industry businesses.
