Skandacor FINISHpro 3D 2436

Skandacor announced the FINISHpro 3D 2436, a spot UV varnish printer designed to make large-format digital embellishment more accessible to print shops. Building on the FINISHpro 3D 1623, the 2436 expands the maximum sheet size to 36.22-by-24.41 inches. This larger format gives shops more room to create dimensional spot UV, raised textures, and high-gloss effects on packaging, point-of-purchase displays, and larger-format print applications that are beyond the reach of smaller-format equipment, the company says.

The FINISHpro 3D 2436 is designed to give shops a practical way to add premium dimensional finishing to larger sheets while keeping the workflow straightforward and manageable, the company says. The result is more work that can be produced in-house, more value added to every printed piece, and more opportunities to say yes to customers.

“Print shops have been asking for a way to bring the embellishment quality of the FINISHpro 3D 1623 to larger sheets and larger applications,” said Brad Drever, CEO of Skandacor. “The 2436 answers that need by giving shops the ability to embellish B2 sheets and larger formats in-house. It gives shops the flexibility to begin packaging, point-of-view, and other high-value work without adding unnecessary complexity.”

“What makes the 2436 exciting is the range of work it brings within reach,” said Jon Congdon, president of Skandacor. “Packaging, oversized stationery, point-of-purchase displays, and other larger applications can now become profitable in-house opportunities instead of jobs that need to be outsourced or turned away.”

The FINISHpro 3D 2436 can complete a 12-by-18-inch sheet in approximately 40 seconds at a 40-micron varnish thickness, helping maintain practical production speeds across a wide range of applications.

Like the FINISHpro 3D 1623, the 2436 can be paired with LAMpro laminating systems and SLEEKpro digital foiling to bring lamination, foil, and dimensional embellishment together under one roof.

Primary applications include commercial print, stationery, packaging, point-of-purchase displays, and other high-value specialty print work.
