CEWE takes over system supplier for CEWE Photo Station

CEWE Stiftung & Co. KGaA concluded a purchase agreement for Delmenhorst-based Hertz Systemtechnik GmbH as part of its succession plan. CEWE acquires with Hertz Systemtechnik GmbH a specialist for the development and production of POS terminal systems and its long-time partner and supplier for the CEWE Photo Station. Terms weren’t disclosed.

“The acquisition of Hertz Systemtechnik GmbH is an excellent addition to our competence profile in the instant photo business at the point of sale,” says Dr. Christian Friege, Chairman of the Board of Management of CEWE Stiftung & Co. KGaA. “We are very pleased to further expand our market leadership in European photofinishing together with our colleagues from Hertz now within the CEWE Group.”

Last year, the CEWE Photo Center, which was developed together with Hertz, won the 2021 TIPA World Award as the “Best Retail Finishing System Worldwide” for its intuitive, easy ordering and wide range of products.
