Mobile photographers abandon half of their downloaded photo apps, but still use the other half regularly

Glass half full or half empty?

Mobile photographer still regularly use about half of the photo apps that they have downloaded onto their smartphones in the previous 12 months, according to imaging experts at Suite 48 Analytics.

This is the main finding of a Flash Survey conducted among 216 North American and European smartphone users. The company specifically asked respondents what percentage of the photo apps that they have downloaded in the previous 12 months they still use more than once a month. A free white paper of the Flash Survey “Ongoing Photo App Use” can be downloaded by emailing [email protected].

The average percentage still used is 51 percent and the median 50 percent. There is a 90 percent likelihood that photo app-owning smartphone users in North America or Europe still use between 47 percent and 56 percent of the photo apps that they have downloaded in the previous 12 months.

The white paper also reports on how many photo apps mobile photographers have installed on their smartphones.
