Pattern Recognition Company (PRC) launched Excire Foto 2027, the latest iteration of its standalone photo-management program. The company says Excire Foto addresses this growing photo management problem with a comprehensive suite of AI-powered tools that support the entire image-management workflow. Photographers can locate files using natural-language prompts, text-in-image search with OCR, facial-recognition tools, GPS information, smart filters, and visual similarity search; organize collections through automatic keywording and duplicate detection; and rapidly identify their best images using advanced culling and image-evaluation tools.
Building on the capabilities introduced in previous versions, Excire Foto 2027 introduces a range of features designed to make finding, organizing, evaluating, and sharing photos easier than ever. From AI text recognition in images and geographic browsing to new filtering and image-evaluation tools, the latest upgrades help photographers take control of their collections while dramatically reducing the time spent on repetitive management tasks.
“Excire Foto 2027 marks the next evolution of our AI-powered photo- and video-management software. The latest release introduces powerful new tools that make it faster and easier to search, organize, and curate large media collections—all without relying on the cloud or requiring a subscription,” said Erhardt Barth, CEO of PRC and a machine learning expert at the University of Lübeck. “Beyond streamlining workflows, Excire encourages photographers to engage more deeply with their images, helping them refine their craft through interactive and playful exploration of their work.”
Highlights of Excire Foto 2027 include:
- AI-powered text search. Excire Foto 2027 can recognize visible text within photos, making it possible to search for everything from street signs and storefront names to athlete numbers, vehicle decals, menus, and more. Users can simply enter the desired text and instantly retrieve matching images from their collection.
- A new World Map View. Photographers can now explore their image libraries geographically through an interactive map interface. Whether searching for images captured in a nearby city, a familiar region, or a far-flung travel destination, the new Map View provides an intuitive way to explore and rediscover photos based on location. Users can also visualize their photographic history, seeing exactly where they’ve traveled and photographed throughout the years.
- Smart browsing and filtering tools. Excire Foto 2027 introduces an AI-powered filter bar and an easy-to-access Timeline Graph that make navigating large photo libraries significantly more efficient. Users can quickly narrow down results by content, sift through collections by date, and locate images with fewer clicks.
- Survey Mode for rapid photo selection. Inspired by the classic analog light table, the new Survey Mode allows photographers to review, compare, rate, and select images without unnecessary distractions. The streamlined interface makes it easier to focus on choosing the strongest photographs from a shoot.
- Enhanced image evaluation tools. New Rule of Thirds overlays and Focus Peaking functionality help photographers assess composition and sharpness at a glance. These tools make it easier to identify technically strong images during culling and review.
- Additional workflow improvements. Excire Foto 2027 also introduces cloud sharing through Microsoft OneDrive and Nextcloud, a more intuitive interface, adjustable side panels, direct clipboard support, automatic keyword generation from folder names, hideable AI-generated keywords, video export capabilities, and a new quick-search tool for quickly locating folders and collections.
