Shutterfly continues to consolidate the operations within its Lifetouch National School Portraits business unit, as it closes production facilities where work will be folded into the greater Shutterfly infrastructure. According to a local CBS affiliate, Shutterfly will close the Shakopee manufacturing plant, laying off 246 employees, in 2024.

“The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says the California-based company will permanently close the Shakopee facility in June of 2024, with the layoff process happening in phases starting this October,” the report said.
