A Raleigh-based business journal has reported WedPics, the wedding-based photo app/service started by area entrepreneurs Justin Miller and Idan Koren, is shutting down Feb. 15 by new owner Mixbook. WedPics had raised more than $12 million in financing, including backing from “Shark Tank” personality Barbara Corcoran.
The company said on its website it will cease to exist Feb. 15.
“We greatly appreciate you choosing WedPics to be a part of your special day, and want to thank you for being a part of our journey.”
The Triangle Business Journal quoted Miller, who is no longer affiliated with WedPics, as saying the company’s 30 local team members had left over the ensuing year.
Mixbook purchased WedPics in December, 2017, which was the company’s fourth acquisition. Mixbook hasn’t yet responded for comment on the closure.
