The Dead Pixels Society attended The Photo Managers Conference 2024 in Columbus, Ohio, April 2-6, 2024. The conference, the 13th edition for this group that is now in its 15th year, touched on a wide range of business and operational topics. Breakout session topics ranged from digital marketing, cyber security and compliance, AI, CRM, workshop development, and more.

At the conference, founder Cathi Nelson announced new operations tools and manuals for photo organizers looking to expand beyond a home-based business. These announcements highlight the growing awareness of the photo-organizing profession among the general public. The event also had several vendor partners from a wide variety of sectors. In addition to the customary output partners like Fujifilm North America and Miller’s Professional Imaging, other vendors embraced the crucial role photo memories play in a broader family legacy context, like Artifcts, Trustworthy, Permanent.org, and Smooth Transitions.

In the video below, Gary Pageau talks with Nelson and member Kimberly Melton, Visual Story Media, about the latest news from this dynamic group commemorating its 15th year. Also featured are several vendor partners, including Imaige, Ollie, Negative Supply, Dig Your Photos!, Permanent.org, and Archoral.
