Rise Above Research announces research projects

Rise Above Research announced its popular U.S. Photo Merchandise Survey has been in the field over the last few weeks and will soon be offered as a full report. The survey had 1,250 U.S. respondents between the ages of 13 and 79. In addition to questions on photo cards, books, calendars, wall/tabletop décor, and drinkware, Rise Above Research added new questions about how inflation and the economic situation have impacted spending on photo products and if habits are expected to continue into 2023. There were also new questions on buying photo products and prints from pro photographers and schools.

  • Instant Printer Ownership & Activity – This analysis study takes a closer look at the instant smartphone printer and instant camera/printer market (i.e., Fujifilm INSTAX, Canon Ivy, Polaroid, etc.), taking a deeper dive into the questions asked on that topic in the most recent US Photo Printing Study. It looks closely at the types and brands of products owned as well as print volumes generated and usage habits. Most of the data is broken down by age groups to highlight differences.
  • Home Printer Ownership & Future Purchase Plans –This report takes an in-depth look at the home printer category, with data collected from the 2022 US Photo Printing Study. It examines the types of printers owned, brands of home printers used most often, future purchase intentions and features that will be most important in future buying, as well as interest in ink subscription services. The data is broken down by age groups and brand of printer used most often to look closely at the differences.
  • Photo Cards & Photo Books: Preferred Vendors and Net Promoter Scores – This analysis study takes a closer look at the top vendors in the photo card and photo book categories to analyze differences among age groups and genders, as well as the likelihood that buyers would recommend these vendors to others. Net promoter scores for the top five vendors in each category are also provided.
  • The 2022 US Photo Printing Study, which was published in April 2022, had a total of 1,324 respondents between the ages of 13 and 79 that were questioned about photo printing habits with detailed sections on home, online and retail store printing. This study includes a written report, data tabs in PDF and Excel format, and PowerPoint charts.
