Time Out Hong Kong reports Kodak Apparel, a South Korean clothing brand officially authorised by Eastman Kodak Co., has opened its first-ever Hong Kong pop-up store at Airside in Kai Tak. Spanning 2,500 sq ft, the space is a vibrant, retro tribute to the aesthetic of Kodak and film photography, with the brand’s iconic yellow and red as colour accents, the report said.

There are also three Korean-style photo booths to try out: the trendy ‘receipt print-out’ booth, the high-angle booth, and a booth with classic Kodak frames to choose from. Any customer who spends $500 instore and follows the official Instagram account (@kodak.style.hk) can redeem a set of Kodak stickers for free, and add $1 for a limited-edition shopping bag as well. An $800 purchase will get you a retro little light box keychain, and splashing out more will earn you gifts of increasingly higher value.

As reported last yearNew York Times feature writer David Andreatta told the story of the Kodak Corner Shop, located “on the bustling main drag of Seongsu-dong, a former warehouse district turned hipster haven in Seoul.” Kodak Apparel and its related shops are the brainchild of Lee Jun Kwon, the chief executive of Hilight Brands, a South Korean fashion company that has been acquiring licenses to prominent trademarks. The company holds licenses for Diadora and Malbon Golf, and has Kodak Apparel outlets in Japan, Taiwan and China. There are no Kodak Apparel stores in the United States.
