Canada’s largest school photography company, Edge Imaging announced James Aziz will be assuming the position of Board Chair, passing the torch to the incoming CEO, Jim Agnew. Agnew will join the company in July.
Over the past three years, Aziz has demonstrated exceptional leadership, steering the company through turbulent times and fostering a new perspective on Edge’s business and the school photography and yearbook industry as a whole, the company said. As Aziz steps into the role of Board Chair, he will continue to provide invaluable guidance and strategic oversight, ensuring a seamless transition for Agnew.
Agnew brings to Edge Imaging more than 35 years of experience in driving positive change and operational excellence, most recently with G.N. Johnston Equipment. The company said “Agnew possesses a deep understanding of the importance of customer-centricity and delivering on the brand promise. With a top-down approach to building and fostering culture, Agnew is poised to lead Edge Imaging into a new era of success.”
This transition in leadership coincides with the organization’s rollout of its new purpose, vision, and values (PVV). Both Agnew and Aziz will play pivotal roles in embedding PVV into the fabric of the company’s culture, the company said.
“We are grateful for the outstanding leadership provided by James during a challenging period for our industry,” said Dave Pond, Founder and Board Member of Edge Imaging.
“Jim brings a wealth of expertise and a fresh perspective that will further elevate our organization,” says Aziz. “Together, we will build upon our renewed hope, drive operational excellence, and deliver on our brand purpose and vision to exceed customer expectations. The future is bright for Edge Imaging and I am grateful to continue to be a part of it.”
“I am excited to work with the incredible Edge team that I have heard so much about,” said Agnew. “It is my goal to listen, engage and understand the business, which will allow us to continue building on the successful foundation that has already been laid. In addition, we must continue to optimize the business with the goal of delivering enhanced products, services and overall experiences to our customers.”
In October, 2020, Aziz was a guest on the Dead Pixels Society podcast, talking about the challenges the company faced during COVID:
