Halide app adds image recovery features

Halide, the popular camera app for iOS from Lux Optics LLC, has been updated to version 1.16, including improved Raw image handling a new image Rescue feature. The app’s machine-learning-based Smart RAW adjustment was introduced last year and improved with better RAW output with more editing headroom and lower noise.

Pixelmator Team releases Pixelmator Pro 1.6 Magenta update

The Pixelmator Team released Pixelmator Pro 1.6, codenamed Magenta, a major update adding an all-new color picker, including the ability to quickly choose colors using hex color codes, and other performance improvements.

iMazing 2.11 for Mac introduced a completely new tool to browse and to transfer iPhone photos by connecting iPhone to a computer and, within seconds, the entire photo library can be browsed straight from the phone, including detailed metadata for each photo and video.

Ilford Original, Mastin Labs classic black-and-white look suitable for weddings, portraits, and documentary work, is now available for Capture One.

DotPhoton Raw now adds support Sony A7R IV and Canon EOS 6D Mark II support. Also, Dotphoton Raw no longer adds .p extension in both modes to streamline some of the workflows and the Home and Success screens are now simplified.

Perfect launches of YouCam for Web AR try-on solution. Perfect Corp., the maker of the virtual beauty app, YouCam Makeup, launched YouCam for Web helping “indie beauty businesses leverage the power of artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR) innovation to drive their businesses,” the company said.

Hasselblad updates Phocus desktop and mobile apps. Phocus 3.5 introduces a new Defringe Tool for purple or green fringe removal in high contrast transitions, improved contrast and brightness adjustments, plus the addition of Luma Mode to the Curves Tool for better control of luminosity, as well as upgraded processing performance.

64BitApps releases PicConvert v.1.2 for macOS
64BitApps released PicConvert v.1.2, a Mac app allowing users to batch convert, to resize and to rename their photos. Users can batch convert their photos and RAW image files to various image formats including JPG, JPEG, JPE, JP2, JPX, PNG, TIFF, TIF, GIF, BMP, HEIC or HEIF.

Disk Drill 4 for Windows recovers deleted data
CleverFiles announces the release of Disk Drill 4 for Windows. Disk Drill can scan and recover more than 400 file types with the press of a single button, straight from the computer or an external drive.

United Imaging Group reports record sales in 2019
Leading European photo/video buying group United Imaging Group GmbH & Co.KG  announced 2019 sales of 379.5 million euros in 2019, a 27.6 percent increase from the 82 million euros from the year before.

PhotoLynx and ImageQuix has announced MVP: Mastering Volume Photography, one of the volume photography industry’s largest annual trade gatherings, will be June 23-25, 2021, at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.

APPO 2020 Conference shifting to online format

Details are still forthcoming, but Cathi Nelson, founder and CEO of the Association of Professional Photo Organizers (APPO) has advised the 2020 National Conference will take place online, during the same timeframe, April 15-18, 2020. The virtual event features 60 hours of content.

APTech’s LeadingPRINT Summit to go virtual April 28

The Association for PRINT Technologies (APTech) is relaunching the LeadingPRINT Summit as a full-scale digital event enabling both association members and non-members to access the event for free. The summit will deliver the same content and leading speakers as on the original agenda.

CE Week NY 2020 canceled

Messe Berlin, IFA and CTLab have canceled CE WEEK NY 2020, which was scheduled to take place from June 10-11, 2020 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, NY., due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
