Picture People abruptly closes doors: News reports

Struggling portrait studio chain The Picture People closed doors without notice on Friday, leaving employees and customers in a lurch, according to news reports. The chain, which emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November, 2016, operates in-store studios in WalMart, Buy Buy Baby, Sears and other in-mall locations.

KDKA -TV in Pittsburgh filed the report above, noting TPP Operating Inc., the parent company of Picture People, is “discontinuing US operations immediately. This impacts all Sears locations that currently house a Sears Portrait Studio.”

According to SEC filings, TPP Operating was a portfolio company of Monroe Capital Corp.
