Award-winning software maker Vivid-Pix announced today that it has been presented with the National Genealogical Society’s (NGS) President’s Citation Award at the annual NGS Family History Conference, held in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The President’s Citation is one of the highest honors presented by the National Genealogical Society, recognizing individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to the field of genealogy through leadership, scholarship, service, and the promotion of genealogical standards.
The award recognizes Vivid-Pix’s collaboration and activities with NGS at the Aging Well 2025 Symposium on Healthy Aging and Family History, ongoing Vivid-Pix outreach, plus educational programming for the broader genealogical and gerontological communities. Recordings of the symposium and other Vivid-Pix activities are available here.
“We are honored to accept this recognition, which is a testament to the wonderful work that many in the family history and aging well communities are doing to help individuals, families, and communities find purpose and create connections by preserving history and stories,” stated Rick Voight, CEO, Vivid-Pix.

Vivid-Pix software is installed in more than 1,000 U.S. libraries and in homes and shared-use environments in more than 120 countries. Its easy-to-use Memory Station software combines images, voice, and text to create stories to display as slideshows and print on home printers, online, and at retail locations. The patent-pending Windows software works with virtually any scanner to preserve memories and restore faded photos and documents — essential for family search and creating a human connection with family members and friends.
Home to the renowned Genealogy Center at the Allen County Public Library, Vivid-Pix held a 4-day scanning event during the NGS Conference at the Allen County Public Library (ACPL), with Vivid-Pix Memory Station scanning and software systems available to create memories with trained volunteers and library staff (free to the community and show attendees). This service remains an ongoing part of the services that the Genealogy Center offers.
