Imagely Fund now offering two $5,000 photography grants
Imagely, a leading provider of WordPress products and services for photographers, announces the 2019 Imagely Fund – now offering two $5,000 photography grants to help fund one environmental project and one humanitarian project.
BOULDER, COLO. (PRWEB) JUNE 24, 2019 – Imagely is excited to announce that for the first time the Imagely Fund will offer two $5,000 grants: one for environmental photography and one for humanitarian photography. Applications for the grants will be accepted through July 31.
Now entering its seventh grant cycle, the Imagely Fund helps talented photographers tell important stories. The Imagely Team believes in the power of great imagery to have a positive impact on the world and is excited to play a supporting role.
“I believe in the profound positive impact of photography on the world,” says Erick Danzer, founder and CEO of Imagely. “A single great image can move people and capture the urgency of a crisis. I also know firsthand how hard it can be to fund worthy causes that have no immediate commercial value. We started the Imagely Fund to support photographers who are undertaking important projects that can move the needle of public awareness for major humanitarian or environmental issues.”
A panel of top environmental, humanitarian and cultural photographers selects the Imagely Fund winner. Judges for the 2019 competition include Jim Brandenburg, Steve Winter, and Ami Vitale. Other past judges have included: Art Wolfe, Steve McCurry, and Michael “Nick” Nichols. The grantee will be announced in the fall of 2019.
The Imagely Fund (formerly known as the Photocrati Fund) offers a $5,000 grants to photographers each year to focus on environmental and humanitarian photography projects. At the completion of the project, the grant winners’ images will be displayed as photo essays on the Imagely blog.
The 2019 Imagely Fund will be open through July 31, 2019. Applicants should submit a one-page project statement along with a link to a photo story in an online gallery/portfolio via the online form at: https://www.imagely.com/fund/.
