Photodex, maker of ProShow software, is shutting down

Photodex Corp., maker of the popular ProShow slideshow product line, announced it is shutting down Jan. 31. The company had already shut down its web-based version of ProShow.

It’s always sad to say goodbye. After over 30 years, Photodex Corporation will be closing permanently on January 31, 2020. We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve our customers over the last three decades.

Users ProShow desktop software will still be able to use the software indefinitely, but services relying on Photodex servers – like the music library and downloadable extras – go dark on Jan. 31. Tech support ends on that date.

As a replacement, the company recommends Photopia, “created by some of the original developers of ProShow.”
