School Photographers of America (SPOA) announced registration is open for the 2023 Annual International Conference on School Photography & Yearbooks will be held in Greenville, South Carolina starting July 10-14, 2023. Go to https://www.schoolphotographersofamerica.com/conference for more information.
The conference will be hosted at the Hyatt Regency Greenville in beautiful downtown Greenville, SC. Because of the expected size of the conference, two other hotels will be hosting the event, with the Hyatt Regency serving as the base, according to association officials.
Business leader Arthur Greeno will be a keynote speaker at the SPOA International Conference for School Photography & Yearbooks. Owner/operator of two Chick-fil-A restaurants in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Greeno overcame a tumultuous childhood to become a Guinness-World-Record-holding entrepreneur and leader.
Greeno is the author of two books – “Dysfunctional Inspiration: A Back Roads Journey to Success”, which tells the story of Green growing up and how he became the man he is today, and “Breaking Conformity”, which uses a story format to teach business principles he and co-author Bryan Smith have learned in their decades of leadership and business ownership.
The conference will start with multiple early bird training opportunities including the annual Mastering Volume Photography (MVP) event, led by ImageQuix/PhotoLynx. In addition, professional training companies like Sandler Training and Dale Carnegie will host multiple training sessions onsite.
Many SPOA board members, partners and membership will be volunteering on “Operation School Smiles” to renovate some school campuses in Greenville County Schools as a service project for the entire industry.
The entire week will build up to Thursday, July 13, when SPOA hosts the National School Photographic Awards and Industry Awards Ceremony and Dinner. This elegant event celebrates the best of the best in the school photography and yearbook industries. SPOA’s strategic partnerships – which lead industry projects for the benefit of all – will also be in attendance and honored: Foundation partner ImageQuix/PhotoLynx, student photography and video partner Sony, and industry report partner, Fotomerchant.
“I could not be more excited to have the conference held in such an amazing town and atmosphere,” says David Crandall, executive director, SPOA, who has extensive local ties to the area. “There are not many cities in the country like Greenville, SC and our attendees and members are in for a real treat when they see it. Greenville sits at the base of the blue ridge mountains in the upstate of South Carolina. Its views and outstanding development downtown will be something folks talk about for years to come.”
