Gelato announced The Anstadt Company, Bennett Graphics, CBi Print, DPI Direct, GSB Digital, Hudson Printing, and Quantum Group have signed on to deploy all three modules of GelatoConnect, an enterprise software solution that optimizes the entire print production process — from procurement and workflow to logistics. By deploying the software across their organizations, these print producers will streamline operations, increase profitability, and reduce manual processes.
“The digital print industry is experiencing one of its most exciting and disruptive growth phases since the time of Gutenberg. With Gen Z and Millennials driving shifts in consumer demand, we’re seeing a movement from offset to digital, and mass production is being challenged by sustainability regulations. These macro forces are lowering average order values while increasing the daily volume of orders we process. I need software that automates and simplifies our entire production workflow,” said Paul Hudson, CEO of Hudson Printing. “Amid these challenges, we’ve chosen GelatoConnect. It’s the only platform I’ve found that is machine and product agnostic, seamlessly connecting the key aspects of our facility: procurement, workflow, and logistics. Looking ahead, GelatoConnect will link my facility and customers with other GelatoConnect-powered print facilities worldwide, enabling us to drive brand value for global clients.”
According to a press release, Bennett Graphics, a recent adopter of GelatoConnect, has in just two weeks validated a 40% reduction of paper consumption thanks to Gelato’s impositioning engine. The reduction in paper consumption is equal to an annual cost saving of more than $100,000 for one customer alone.
“GelatoConnect is set to simplify our production process significantly. We’re excited to see how the software will streamline batching, binning, and shipping of micro-transactions,” said Adam Seiz, Vice President of Business Solutions at Bennett Graphics. “On the admin side, we’re confident the system will integrate easily with our current operations. The support from their team has been great, and we expect the tools to reduce touchpoints in purchasing, project management, and shipping, making our workflow smoother. One of the biggest opportunities we see is the potential to improve cash flow through inventory optimization.”
In August, Gary Pageau of the Dead Pixels Society chated with Henrik Müller-Hansen, the founder and CEO of Gelato, to talk about the opportunities for the photo industry with the platform.
