“We’re excited to bring WaldoPro to the professional photographer community. Our platform is helping our current photographer partners increase their sales conversions dramatically while spending less time with operations,” said Rodney Rice, founder and CEO of Waldo Photos. “With the consumer increasingly on mobile and expecting a seamless purchase experience, our platform addresses the copyright issues associated with mobile proof delivery, increases the visibility and engagement by pushing the proofs via text alerts in near real-time, when purchasing is most likely, and automates order processing and fulfillment.”
In March, Waldo Photos announced a patent for Faceblocker, a proprietary technology allowing professional photographers to copyright-protect digital photo proofs. The process works by after a candid or portrait photo taken by a professional photographer are uploaded to the Waldo cloud, the company’s facial recognition IDs face of a potential purchaser. Waldo places the Waldo logo over the face of the intended purchaser in the photo. The FaceBlocked proofs are then delivered to the mobile device of those found in the photo and they can view their face by tapping their screen but the rest of the photo is blurred out. Once purchased, the hi-res photos are delivered.
