The company formerly known as ImageQuix – which through years of various acquisitions acquired numerous brands under the ImageQuix, PhotoLynx, Skylab, Fotomerchant, and Simplephoto labels – has consolidated under a unified brand: Captura. In a press release, the company said this “new name reflects our unified commitment to empowering our customers to Make more—more revenue, more impact, more time—by bringing together the strengths of  ImageQuix, PhotoLynx, Skylab, Fotomerchant and Simplephoto under one brand.”

About a year ago, Raleigh-based ImageQuix – which was fresh off a new capital investment from Charlesbank Capital Partnersannounced plans to acquire Australian rival Fotomerchant. In an exclusive video interview with the Dead Pixels Society, the executives at that time acknowledged plans to become a unified brand and approach but didn’t commit to a timetable. Tim McCain, president of ImageQuix, noted the goal for the transition was to ongoing business the same way: “The biggest thing is that we’re all going at this wholistically with egos dropped, pride dropped, there’s no pride of ownership. We’re trying to do what’s best for the industry right now. And best for us collectively, which is a neat way to go about it. And

Since the merger, ImageQuix CEO departed and a new CEO, Brett Zucker, took his place in August. (Incidentally, Kovacevic announced recently he was executive chairman of mission-driven church software company, Servant Keeper.) The Dead Pixels Society interviewed  the new CEO Zucker and he briefly discussed providing a unified experience for the volume-photography business.

“At Captura, we are committed to delivering solutions that help our customers make more of what truly matters—whether that’s more revenue for their business, more time for their lives outside of running a business, or more opportunities to grow,” said Zucker, CEO of Captura. “Our new brand reflects not only our legacy but also our future—a future that is entirely focused on your success.”

The company announced a new tagline, Make more, which is at the heart of everything the company does and reflects its ongoing mission to provide tools that help studios maximize their revenue, streamline their workflows, and ultimately, save time and effort.
