Fujifilm UK has unveiled a brand refresh to its photo printing services with the launch of PHOTO by Fujifilm across its 150 independent retail partners in the United Kingdom and Ireland, according to Retail Times. Each of its independent partners – which exclusively stock Fujifilm photo printing services – will be provided with new brand guidelines and a fresh new exterior to entice new and existing customers. The move has been introduced in a bid to create a nationwide brand, while maintaining the independence of the individual shops, the article said. As part of the PHOTO by Fujifilm launch, each store will be fitted with bespoke signage putting the shop name front and centre of the new branding.

Theo Georghiades, general manager for Imaging Solutions Fujifilm UK, told Retail Times writer Fiona Biggs: “We understand the importance placing photography at the heart of local communities can have, which is why we continue to invest in our independent retail partners. Photography remains an inspiration in our daily lives, and we are finding there is a greater desire than ever to have physical photo prints, whether taken on a smartphone or digital camera.

“Launching PHOTO by Fujifilm allows us to celebrate the artistry of our independent retailers while establishing a consistent nationwide service that customers can trust. They are all true specialists when it comes to photo printing, and when coupled with the quality of Fujifilm paper and printing technology, it provides a truly outstanding service to customers.”

All of Fujifilm’s retailers are equipped with the latest technology to offer customers personalized photo gifts, including restorations of old photos, photo books, and canvases.

Fujifilm UK also announced a partnership with fashion retailer Primark to include a concession at the Primark store in Manchester. The company kicked off the new concession with an appearance by Drag Race UK star Cheddar Gorgeous, revealing a one-of-a-kind garment made up of more than 1,000 Fujifilm INSTAX prints, designed by local fashion creator and artist, Mariusz Malon.

For the first time, Primark customers will be able to purchase their Fujifilm products in-store, including INSTAX Square, INSTAX Mini, INSTAX Wide, photo film and development, frames, and other accessories. The Photo by Fujifilm concession, on the first floor of Primark, is also home to three INSTAX booths and four easy-print, instant printer kiosks.

Cheddar’s garment is made up of multiple images of their eye, blurred over time to create a dramatic color gradient.

“We recognize that shopping is more than scanning the clothes rails,” says Georghiades, in a press release. “Hitting the high street is a shared experience, a day out enjoyed with friends and family, where memories are made. Our partnership with Primark ties these two past times together, capturing the moment through instant photography. We’re thrilled to see the concept come to life and welcome the people of Manchester to test it out.”

“I am thrilled to announce our new partnership with Fujifilm, launching the first ever Photo by Fujifilm concession in our Manchester store,” said Tim Kelly, Director of New Business Development at Primark. “At Primark, we are committed to offering a truly unique and unforgettable shopping experience and the new concession is sure to excite our customers and offer a memorable way to capture their cherished moments, with a wide range of Instax products available to purchase in-store. We’re excited for the future of this partnership as we prepare to roll out the concession to our Birmingham store next year.”

The Photo by Fujifilm x Primark concession launches Wednesday 1st November offering customers a heightened shopping experience, bringing fun and play to the art of instant photo taking for all shoppers, and is available to visit during store opening hours. Cheddar Gorgeous’ Fujifilm INSTAX creation is on display on the first floor of Primark Manchester Market Street until Nov. 5.

This is the first of two launches for the two brands, with Primark Birmingham expected to open in early 2024, according to the announcement.
