Aubagne, France-based Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems (KNIS), a maker of industrial inkjet printing systems, and Imaging Solutions AG (ISAG), a specialist in modular finishing systems for the photo market based in Dielsdorf, Switzerland, announced a partnership to integrate the Kyocera Belharra printing press with Imaging Solutions’ FastCut finishing module. In a press release, the company says “the synergy between KNIS’s advanced inkjet technology and Imaging Solutions’ expertise in high-precision finishing systems promises to streamline the production process for photo printers, ensuring superior quality and efficiency. By combining their respective cutting-edge technologies, the two leaders aim to answer the photo printing industry expectations, in term of flexibility and sustainability.”
The Kyocera Belharra is water-based inkjet photo printer designed for high-speed, high-quality inkjet printing. Kyocera claims the Belharra aims “to replace traditional silver halide processes in photo production, offering a modern, eco-friendly, and efficient alternative.” By pairing with Imaging Solutions’ well-established FastCut finishing module, the companies say the solution ensures seamless production workflows from print to final product.
The benefits of the partnership include:
- Efficiency and speed: Optimized workflows through integrated printing and finishing systems reduce production times while maintaining top-tier quality.
- Sustainability: Belharra, by replacing traditional silver-halide production lines, cut the chemicals and water consumption, but also reduce the total footprint, according to Kyocera. Both products are advanced technologies that reduce waste and energy consumption, aligning with the industry’s push towards eco-friendly practices.
- Enhanced value: A holistic approach to photo printing, allowing businesses to offer premium services to their customers with minimal operational complexity.
- Flexibility: Modular systems that adapt to varying production needs, supporting both small-scale and large-scale operations.
“This collaboration brings together the best of two worlds: Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems’ groundbreaking printing capabilities and Imaging Solution’s industry-leading finishing solutions and expertise in the photo market. Together, we are redefining the possibilities for photo printers.” said Paul Morgavi, CEO, Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems.
