Pixster Photo Booths opens sixth location in Houston

Photo booth rental company Pixster Photo Booths announced today the opening of their 6th location in Houston, TX, despite the pandemic induced hit to the event industry. “Pixster suffered some tragic losses in 2020-21. We were forced to layoff almost 100 employees and saw a revenue decline of more than 80%,” said McLain Harvey. “However, events are coming back stronger than ever. Now is the time to safely rebuild and expand.”

Founded in San Diego, California, Pixster has expanded over the past nine years with locations in Orange County, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Austin, and Chicago. The company says Houston was a natural choice for them due to wedding and corporate demand already coming from Houston. To-date, Pixster has serviced Houston events from their Austin location.

Despite the pandemic, Pixster serviced more than 3,500 events nationally in 2021. The company claims the demand was in part thanks to their 360 Photo Booth, which gives clients and guests a 360-degree slow-motion video experience. Additionally, Pixster’s Glam Photo Booth has become somewhat of an iconic look over the past year. This service pairs black and white photos with a proprietary smoothing filter to make party-goers look “glowing”.
