Amazon expanding delivery options for holiday season
Seattle’s Amazon Inc. announced expanded delivery options for the holidays. Prime members across the United States now have access to more than 10 million items available for free next-day delivery, and the company has expanded Prime Free Same-Day Delivery, bringing the convenience of doorstep delivery within hours to 46 major metropolitan areas. This is in addition to free shipping on millions of items that all customers can enjoy year-round on orders over $25.
“We know the holidays can be a busy time, especially with 2019 being one of the shortest shopping seasons,” said Maria Renz, Vice President, Global Delivery Experience, Amazon. “Our goal is to make the season as easy as possible for customers and deliver smiles at every turn, whether it’s shopping the largest selection available for free shipping, or getting holiday essentials delivered the very same day, and more.”
Customers can also choose to have their holiday orders delivered to a self-service Hub Locker in 900-plus cities and towns across the United States, including Whole Foods Market locations, at no additional cost. This holiday season, customers will also have the option to pick up their Amazon packages in-store at one of the thousands of Hub Counter partner locations within Rite Aid, GNC, and Stage stores, and Health Mart independent pharmacies. Prime members in 50 U.S. cities and surrounding areas choose secure package delivery with Key by Amazon. Members can choose to have packages delivered inside their home, car, or garage to keep them away from the elements, from porch pirates or from snooping family members.
