Glass adds web access to photo gallery service

Radiant Photo is a new photo correction software built on Perfectly Clear
Radiant Imaging Labs will officially release Radiant Photo on Sept. 15 but the company has been doing a lot of pre-release hype to raise awareness of this new desktop image-correction software. The photo editor and plug-in is designed and optimized for life-like color, realistic detail and natural light. It will be available by Sept.15, 2022.
Filterpixel seeking integration and lab partners
Filterpixel is a cloud-based AI-powered photo culling service. The India-based company is looking for photo lab and portrait industry partners to integrate its service. Filterpixel is positioned as a cloud-based alternative to desktop culling solutions that can integrate directly into online portrait galleries and photo lab print sites.
Sony improves external monitor function on Xperia smartphones
Sony Electronics Inc. released a software update enabling new external monitor capabilities in the Xperia PRO and Xperia PRO-I smartphones. In the Xperia PRO and the Xperia PRO-I, the External Monitor feature will now include Livestreaming, Wave Form, and False Color capabilities.
MyHeritage has added a bulk photo tagger feature to its galleries. Photo Tagger uses facial recognition technology to identify faces in family photos. It scans the photos uploaded to MyHeritage, and groups together the faces believed to belong to the same individual, so you can review and tag them in one tap.
Capture One adds features to Capture One 22 (15.3.0)
Capture One has announced the immediate availability of Capture One 22 (15.3.0), a significant and dynamic update that introduces new features like wireless tethering for Sony cameras, Magic Eraser for easy and accurate masking, and Cloud Transfer; the company’s major first step into multi-platform and mobile support, as it prepares for its iPad app release.
Adobe has launched a free-to-use web version of Photoshop and plans to open the service up as a way to introduce more users to the app, according to the Verge.
Leading iOS camera app Camera+ is moving to a subscription model and has added a new “UltraRes” feature which upscales images up to 48Mb.
Photo studio management system Iris Works has released a suite of email marketing features for its subscribers.
Ricoh Imaging Americas Corp. announced the release of new function-expansion firmware for PENTAX K-1, K-1 Mark II and K-3 Mark III digital SLR cameras enabling season-specific custom image modes when the cameras are used with specific PENTAX Limited-series lenses. The first season-specific mode available today is called KATEN or “Summer Sky.” It is designed to emphasize the rich blues of summer skies and depict the fine details of white clouds. Custom Image modes that have been specially designed for capturing autumn, winter, and spring scenes will be available later this year.
Connected camera Pixii updated its software to version 5.5.18. New features include enhancements to menus, WiFi functions, EXIF data, and adding the ability to transfer photos to a smartphone or tablet using a USB OTG cable.
Picsart launches AI image enhancement
Digital creation platform Picsart announced ‘AI Enhance,’ an image enhancement toolset for both businesses and consumers. The tools’ capabilities include advanced image enhancement and upscaling improving the overall quality of an image and resolution for printing or sharing online. It uses advanced AI models to remove or blur pixelated effects, add pixels, and sharpen ad restore images.
Kapwing changes brand look in advance of collaboration features
Online video editor Kapwing announced a brand refresh in advance of the debut of its collaborative video editing features. Sign up for the preview here. Started in 2018 as a video meme-making platform, the product has expanded into a full-featured editing platform.
Fotomerchant releases Fotomerchant Capture 3.11.11
Fotomerchant has released Fotomerchant Capture 3.11.11, which expands the usage of international phone numbers. Registration and Messaging now support international phone numbers; users will be prompted to enter a phone number from the region they are currently in or any valid international phone number.
Digital asset management software, ACDSee, has announced ACDSee Free, a free application offering a range of features for culling and managing raw files without needing to import any of them.
Fine-art paper supplier Hahnemühle now has a mobile app, offering practical “How To” guides and videos, FAQ, and a “Find a Certified Studio” feature for printing needs.
