Cloudprinter posted data about the types of print flowing through its network. The data provides insight into the popularity of different print engine platforms and how seasonality comes into play.

“December marks a distinct shift in Cloudprinter’s operational trends, reflecting the dichotomy between the professional market slowdown and the consumer holiday season peak. Our network sees a remarkable 70% of annual photo book production concentrated in this festive month. Such seasonal dynamics provide us with unique insights into consumer behavior and the adaptability of our print network.”

The post notes HP’s continued dominance in the key photobook category in the fourth quarter, but also notes the increase by Ricoh in the segment: “Traditionally strong in textbook printing, Ricoh is now gaining approval for photo book production in markets such as the US and Canada, indicating an expansion of their capabilities and market reach.”
