Fujifilm warns of faux film

Fujifilm warns this counterfeit film may damage film processing equipment.

Fujifilm Corp. issued a warning about “35mm film non-genuine goods illegally using FUJIFILM logo”, where a film-developing shop in Japan encountered the bogus film, which was loaded with movie film.

Movie film cannot be developed with the normal color-negative film development process (C-41) because the special backing on the film will contaminate the developer. If this happens, the entire film processors rack system will need to be cleaned, not to mention impacting other films in the processing batch.
