Mitsubishi Electric introduces M1A high-speed, high-capacity dye-sub photo printer

Mitsubishi Electric announced a high capacity, high-speed photo printer, the M1A. Designed to improve work efficiency as well as save time and costs for photo booth operators and photo production houses, the M1A is designed to be robust, compact and easy to operate for quick printing, resulting in high-quality photos on demand in large volumes, the company says, adding the printer is also suitable for photo labs, photo finishing services and applications requiring minimal labor and training.

“The M1A printer from Mitsubishi Electric is easy to use and introduces a quick method for media replacement, helping operators reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency. The M1A media is ready to use out of the box, saving time and money,” says James Chan, director, printer business unit, at Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc.’s Visual and Imaging Systems Division.

In addition to the easy installation and user-friendly media replacement system with drop-in ink cartridge and flangeless paper rolls, some key features of the M1A printer include:

  • High capacity prints for high-volume printing – Up to 750 4×6” prints per roll at approximately 11 seconds per print.
  • Matte or glossy finish – Provides choice of various texture print finishes. Can be customized to do partial matte over gloss to create watermark effects.
  • Built-in de-curling roller makes photo output easy to collate.
  • Ink rewind and rollback function – Helps maximize media use while enabling the multiple-sized printing with one type of media loaded.

The Mitsubishi Electric M1A printer comes with a 3-year warranty on parts and labor with no print count limits on the print head. The first year of the warranty includes Express Replacement Assistance.
