Roland DG Truevis XP-640

Roland DGA Corp. announced the TrueVis XP-640 pro-level 64-inch eco-solvent inkjet printer. The XP-640’s dual-staggered printheads eject finer ink droplets at higher densities to produce incredibly vibrant, detailed graphics with fewer passes. New high-speed data control functionality further enhances the performance of the printheads, enabling the XP-640 to print at speeds of up to 818 square feet per hour while achieving beautiful, high-definition image quality.

“Our fastest TrueVIS printer to date, the XP-640 is uniquely engineered to maximize production capability while maintaining the amazing color and print quality that has become the hallmark of the TrueVIS product family,” said Roland DGA’s Product Manager of Digital Print, Daniel Valade. “This next-generation inkjet incorporates several exciting innovations, including new printheads, upgraded control technology, and new inks, to provide users with the best of both worlds – outstanding speed and stunning output.”

New TH eco-solvent inks deliver an expanded gamut. In addition to CMYK, Orange and Green, the TH ink set includes a new Red ink option, allowing users to achieve the highest accuracy with red and orange expression. TH inks are also extremely cost-effective, with an ink price per milliliter that’s lower than that of conventional ink, claims Roland DGA. Improved profiling reduces ink usage as well, allowing for maximum high-volume production profitability.

True Rich Color, a print setting that optimizes the device’s ability to create realistic graphics that combine vivid colors with neutral grays, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones, has evolved further with the XP-640. Based on the True Rich Color Standard setting, the user can now quickly select the ideal color variation, including vivid color, deeper color, or softer color, depending on the setting and the client’s requirements.

The XP-640 also comes bundled with powerful, intuitive VersaWorks 6 RIP software, which offers a host of advanced features that enable users to manage print output effortlessly. VersaWorks 6 boasts HARLEQUIN RIP dual-core operation for faster handling of complex files, simple-to-use drag-and-drop functionality, new tools for easier and more precise color matching, built-in Roland DG and PANTONE® libraries, nesting for up to 86 jobs, a predictive ink calculator, and much more.

Roland DGA also announced the North American launch of the new Roland DG TY-300, a state-of-the-art direct-to-film (DTF) printer uniquely engineered for exceptional image quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency. The TY-300 delivers vibrant, detailed transfer graphics for apparel customization at speeds up to four times faster than competitive models while minimizing running costs.

“The TY-300 takes DTF transfer printing to a whole new level,” said Valade. “It produces more with less, enabling users to increase production and cost-effectiveness without sacrificing quality. Plus, in addition to the TY-300 printer, we offer all the other components needed to produce stunning customized apparel and textiles, including an optional Roland DG tested and approved shaker oven as well as inks, powder, and transfer media – all made to optimize DTF output.”

The TY-300 boasts newly developed printheads allowing for the precise expression of fine lines, small letters, and detailed designs, as well as highly accurate photo reproduction. The staggered layout of the two large printheads enables printing white, essential for apparel printing, with high productivity of 133 square feet per hour in Production mode. Output quality is further enhanced by the availability of two profiles with different white densities for optimal printing according to the color of the fabric. Users will also appreciate the TY-300’s True Rich Color 3 – a print setting that ensures both vividness and natural appearance in a single graphic.
