ProMaster unveils 170ASL speedlight for Sony
The ProMaster 170SL Speedlight lineup offers full TTL compatibility for Canon, Nikon, and now Sony’s Multi-Interface Shoe.
FAIRFIELD, CT – JUNE 23, 2018: ProMaster, a leading brand in high-quality accessories for still photography and videography, announces the exciting addition of a Sony Multi-Interface Shoe (MIS) compatible flash to their collection of powerful, affordable speedlights. The new ProMaster 170SL for Sony offers full TTL and Advanced Distance Integration (ADI) compatibility. This new version is in addition to the highly-successful Canon eTTL and Nikon iTTL compatible 170SL models.
Designed to function flawlessly with Sony’s flash system, this new 170SL works beautifully on-camera or off. It integrates fully with Sony’s CTRL, CTRL+, CTRL+ RATIO, RMT, and RMT2 optical wireless TTL systems in both master and slave modes. The speedlight can be controlled from the camera or from the button-driven LCD menu on the back of the unit. Shooters will enjoy +/- 3 EV exposure compensation in TTL mode, 22 levels of light output control in manual mode, and support for rear curtain sync and stroboscopic shooting.
With a guide number of 52m/170ft it’s two-lens, automatic flash head provides excellent quality of light, with a color temperature of 5600K. Offering a zoom range from 24-180mm, the 170SL features a built-in bounce reflector as well as a wide-diffusion panel which provides 18mm of flash coverage.
The 170SL Speedlight has a robust chassis to ensure years of reliable service. The durable bounce/swivel head, metal quick release foot, high-quality buttons and switches, high-grade motors and capacitors, and built-in thermal cut-off protection are the foundation of the 170SL’s exquisite technical features. Included are a storage case, with room for 4 spare AA batteries, plus an off-camera flash stand.
