GoPro updates Quik app to improve frame grab feature

GoPro updated its video editing app, Quik 8.8, so users can take frame grabs from videos captured on their phones. The editing process has also been streamlined. The company also released five GoPro Original music tracks for Quik video edits.

The company said Quik’s Frame Grab feature is better than the built-in screen grab tool, which only captures the screen resolution. Quik’s Frame Grab tool saves images in the same resolution that the video was captured in.

Quik is free to download and use on a trial basis. Customers can unlike the app for $1.99/month or $9.99/year. This will include unlimited cloud backup of imported photos and videos at their original quality when the backup feature is released later this year, the company said.
